The company develops cloud-native solutions for large-scale data processing, streaming, analytics, and decision support, handling over one billion data updates per day from over 1000+ data sources daily.

The Role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, development, and delivery of core AI platform services, including server-side components, natural language interfaces, and semantic context capabilities. 
  • Define and guide how enterprise data platforms and databases are structured, accessed, and exposed to AI-powered applications and agents. 
  • Partner with data engineering, operations, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable services that support real-time business workflows. 
  • Participate throughout the product lifecycle, with a strong focus on solution design, technical planning, and execution. 
  • Mentor and support software engineers, promoting engineering excellence and best practices across the team. 
  • Facilitate technical discussions and contribute to architecture, roadmap, and planning decisions alongside engineering leadership. 
  • Collaborate with product teams, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to define and deliver effective solutions.

Must-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline. 
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience, including demonstrated technical leadership responsibilities. 
  • Deep expertise in Java and solid proficiency in Python. 
  • Experience working with relational database management systems, including SQL Server. 
  • Strong background designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs. 
  • Extensive experience working within cloud-based environments, including Snowflake. 
  • Knowledge of data integration processes and ETL technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing and evolving scalable, resilient, and maintainable distributed systems, with the ability to evaluate architectural trade-offs and align technical decisions with business objectives.
  • Strong commitment to software quality, including experience developing production-grade APIs or data pipelines using test-driven development (TDD) and comprehensive testing practices.
  • Previous exposure to data-intensive industries such as energy, commodities, financial markets, or trading environments, or a demonstrated interest in developing expertise within complex market domains.

Selection Process

Interview Process & How to Prepare

  1. Screening Interview (with Hiring Manager) Focus: culture fit, background, and your motivation. Be ready to walk through your CV and ask questions about the company.
  2. Panel Interview (mixed US/RO panel, evening slot 17:00-18:00 start, ~2 hours)
  • Hour 1: Behavioral round covering conflict resolution and ownership of responsibilities. Prepare concrete examples from your own experience (STAR format works well).
  • Hour 2: Technical round. You'll receive a home assignment beforehand (a pull request to review) and be asked to walk through your code review live with the panel.

Good to Know

Come with real examples, not hypotheticals. For the technical round, focus on the quality and clarity of your review comments, not just finding bugs.
